A typical day.
I'm a DevOps Lead with deep experience designing, migrating, and operating cloud-native systems in AWS. My proven ability to lead infrastructure transformations, resolve complex production issues in real time, and bridge development and operations teams has been key to my success. I'm known for hands-on leadership, strong troubleshooting instincts, and building scalable, secure environments through automation and modern DevOps practices. In every situation I strive to earn trust by proving my expertise and delivering a response that can be understood by anybody regardless of skill level or ranking position.

Coming up in a family of veterans it was an easy decision to join and serve my country. I've always felt that my time in the military shaped who I am. I quickly found my place and was able to experience amazing things. I've been able to connect with people all over the world to train and ended up leading an amazing group of people.
What's the point of having a gift if you don't share it when you can? I've had the pleasure of coming up under the guidance of great mentors and I've always pushed to follow that example. I value the process of educating others and I stay committed to assist in great achievements. In my current role, I mentor engineers through hands-on guidance, strengthening their technical capabilities and independent problem-solving skills.
I like to move-it move-it. I've been lucky enough to visit 21 states from California to New York. I've even visited countries like Germany, Panama, Honduras, and Korea. Anytime I can hit the road or rack up SkyMiles count me in.
I'm a tech junkie. I can spend all day watching videos of product rollouts. I love to go to different events and actually put my hands on the latest gadgets. It's even better when I can take them home #TeamAndroid ;)
I'm not sure how many DevOps Leads you will find that enjoy picking up a hammer to assist in building a house, but that's me. I find my role constantly connecting with developers and by learning code here and there I've been able to elevate my knowledge on deploying and maintaining services in numerous ways, from infrastructure as code to CI/CD automation.
These three are the reason I push so hard. I have a wife who is nothing short of amazing. She is my biggest supporter and has even rewarded me with two beautiful boys. I continue to grow and educate myself to stay marketable so that I am always in a position to provide for them. I am truly blessed!

I had the opportunity to work closely with Dwayne during a complex legacy migration initiative involving the transition of critical on-premises infrastructure and services to AWS cloud environments. His technical leadership and execution were instrumental to the success of the program. Dwayne consistently applied AWS Well-Architected Framework principles across the migration lifecycle, ensuring solutions were secure, resilient, operationally efficient, and scalable. He also drove adoption of modern CI/CD practices, helping streamline deployment pipelines, improve release quality, and accelerate delivery timelines while reducing operational risk. Beyond his technical expertise, Dwayne was exceptional to work with on a day-to-day basis. He demonstrated strong leadership qualities, clear communication, and an ability to align cross-functional teams during high-pressure phases of the migration. Working together with Dwayne on Migrations has been an absolute pleasure. Dwayne has been playing an important role in making sure that many of the commonly-missed items are not overlooked by the team.
